Skyway up Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands never stood on my list of visitable places in Malaysia because of the tons and tons of cement over the mountain as well as the tourists that came with it. Too artificial for my liking. There is however, one single saving grace - the skyway. It is an ecological and fascinating way to observe (rather shortly) nature. The ride of thirty minutes or so takes you through a series of valleys and gulleys that span the mid elevation towards the montane zone which is easily identifiable by the cloud line and "shorter" trees. If you're suffering from acrophobia (fear of heights), this is not a good option as the gondolas can stop from time to time if the crosswind is too strong (it happenend twice on our trip). Looking down a few hundred feet to the valley below on a swinging gondola may not be too comfortable (we heard the opposite gondola's occupants screaming) if it happens...

The cloud line getting close by as we progressed...

 Misty vistas...

We came out of the noisy building to feel the cool evening air (which had very strong windy atmosphere)...

The Highland Hotel's facade in the mist.

The way down - silently gliding into the dak misty void...
