Another insane road to nowhere in the making at Pos Buntu...

I try whenever possible to be positive and not show any unsightly photos in my blog but this has got to be in. If building an auto route that serves no purpose from Kuala Medang to the Cameron Highlands is not enough, they have to make another from Pos Buntu to Slim River. How many mountain roads do we need to move from A to B? To add salt to the wound, scores of heavily laden timber lorry plying the Batu Talam-Raub route is now a common sight and some of these lorries are carrying very few LARGE pieces of logs. Ever wonder where they were sourced?

The beginning of unhappy results to come...

A birdwing butterfly...

Flowering Gapis, Saraca spp.

Previously inaccessible parts of Lata Lembik now exposed by the road track.

Another view of the falls.

A cascade on one of its tributuaries.

More pictures...

A patch of Cryptocoryne affinis on the banks of the Lipis River at Lata Lembik, Pos Buntu.

This is not a mistaken photo from autumn, it is in 'spring' at Ulu Sungai as the dry weather causes old leaves to drop en masse and in return forced new leaf buds to emerge with the first sign of temperature shift.

The culprit...
