Up Gunung Brinchang on a sunny December morning...the vista from 6600 feet above sea level

On a clear sunny morning, the most spetacular views can be had from atop Gunung Brinchang at 6666 feet above sea level - reached through a punishing and narrow drive up Gunung Brinchang's trail-road used by the communication tower. Not recommended unless your car has good absorbers and the car is working perfectly, especially the wheel. Drivers without experience on winding and hilly terrains should avoid trying this road as it is really a dangerous road, especially if it rains where the danger of landslide is ever present on the sensitive and high slopes...

Scarring of the lower valleys from human activities...

They continue for miles and miles, extending beyond the Bertam valley on the Pahang side...

At the Mossy Jungle trail...

The reason for the recent disasters brewing down below at the lower valleys- indiscriminate clearing of land for agricultural activities on sensitive highlands...which sadly continues to march on despite uproars from all quarters: the evil of "now money" against future needs.

Wild Boar hunt...

I was in my usual photographing along an abandonned logging trail when a group of Orang Asli passed by on their motorbikes and a pack of dogs - something looked strange on one of the motorbikes and it turned out to be a dead wild pig...

They dismounted the pig from their motorbike when crossing the small stream...

Promenade at Besançon last September...

Probably the last time for me at Besançon for a long long time ahead, I took some photos along the path that I usually take...

MacD banking on the French culture of quality food - making burgers with French beef (they used the famous Limousin and the Montbéliard race of cows)

End the day with one of my favourite dishes: a moules frites at Rive Gauche, a simple bistrot beside the Doubs River.

Ulat buluh for fishing...

I was strolling along an abandonned logging track with my camera when I chanced upon two men sitting on the floor sorting out something on a bamboo stem: it turned out they caught a nest of boring worms (probably the larvae of beetles or wood borers). It is one of the most effective bait for fishing in the river and they are not easy to come by...They can usually be singled out from a bamboo thicket by the look of the leaves showing sign of infection on its stem (they tend to look sickly and spotted) and the bamboo stems should be abnormally short because of the infection...

They were placed on a large dried leaf of a bread fruit tree and then divided among themselves. In Malay, these worms are simply called "Ulat Buluh" or bamboo worms.

Hog's day out...

I was photographing butterflies around the road shoulders of a forested trunk road when I saw this young hog coming out into the open grass road side to forage for food...it was cautious and when it saw me, it eventually trotted back into the forest up the hills...

Paris on a day (2)...

For those who fancy a "trishaw" ride in paris - here's one...

David Gandy hocking undies for Marks and Spencer in Paris - can get autograph on the affixed day on the window display...

Toyota too show off their stuff - but mostly cars already in the market (Avgo), not just the fantasy concept cars like others...

Well. Citroën and their new Cactus - loved the idea of the car...
