A summer in Jumilhac Le Grand in Dordogne (2)...a pictorial

Haystacks, called meule (de foin) in the fields of Jumilhac-le-Grand

Sunflower fields en-route to Jumilhac-le-Grand

The chateau lit up at night, fitted with fireworks to celebrate quartoze juillet tonight...everyone was seated on the tarmac of the square waiting for the event to begin. (see video below)

The morning sun gave a beautiful glow to the chateau, seen here from the kitchen entrance of Puy-Reissex, the family home.

The mass garage sale, braderie, was organized to celebrate quartoze juillet, or la fête nationale aka National Day

Tchin!(Cheers) To good life!

A cast-metal pot actually used for cooking in the fire place.

Part of the gardens of Puy-Reissex, with lots of Hydrangea-called Hortensia in French.
